Each year, Canberra kids vote for their favourite Australian books. This is called the COOL Awards, and COOL stands for Canberra's Own Outstanding List. The Awards have been running since 1991.
Two of the previous winners were Diary of a Wombat by Jackie French, and Just Disgusting by Andy Griffiths. You can see pictures of the book covers below.
You can also click here to find a list of all the books that have won the COOL Awards.
We hope you enjoy reading about Canberra and what it's like to live here.
Kids from Canberra (ACT, Australia) and Livingston (New Jersey, USA) can post comments on this blog to share what it's like living in those cities and what their favourite things are. Everyone will be able to read the posts.
Kids in Canberra can also learn about Livingston by visiting the special page at Livingston Public Library (where they ask questions you can answer): livingston.bccls.org/test-australia2.html
